  30. I have run the Chameleon 3.11 sampler with shareware winsock programs Hgopher, 
  31. Mosaic and Cello with some success under a direct slip account.  I "THINK" I 
  32. copied the winsock.dll to my windows/system directory.  I know that I had to 
  33. start Chameleons FTP and connect to a site before running another program.  If 
  34. I did not, windows would disappear, leaving me at the dos prompt.

  36. I then tried to install the Trumpet winsock.  I was not successful, yet. AFter 
  37. that, and after carefully reviewing all my ini files, I still have the problem, 
  38. as described above.

  40. I have not recopied winsock.dll to my windows/system directory.  I have not yet 
  41. tried a complete reinstallation.
