I have run the Chameleon 3.11 sampler with shareware winsock programs Hgopher,
Mosaic and Cello with some success under a direct slip account. I "THINK" I
copied the winsock.dll to my windows/system directory. I know that I had to
start Chameleons FTP and connect to a site before running another program. If
I did not, windows would disappear, leaving me at the dos prompt.
I then tried to install the Trumpet winsock. I was not successful, yet. AFter
that, and after carefully reviewing all my ini files, I still have the problem,
as described above.
I have not recopied winsock.dll to my windows/system directory. I have not yet
tried a complete reinstallation.
I hope this is some help.
